The Next Generation of All-Porcelain
Restoratives
For years the dental community has dreamed of a
product that could provide the esthetics of an
all-porcelain restoration, yet offer the strength of
metal ceramics. It was not until the 1990's that
this dream was realized through a product called
In-Ceram. Invented by Dr. Michael Sadoun at the
University of Paris and developed by Vita Zahnfabrik
of Germany, In-Ceram had undergone many clinical
studies in Europe and the United States.
In-Ceram's major benefits are outstanding
esthetics, high flexural strength and unsurpassed
fit. In terms of strength, In-Ceram is
three to four times stronger than other
all-porcelain products. It yields strength values of
450-600 MPa, which makes it suitable for the
production of not only single crowns, but also
three-unit anterior bridges. Its marginal fit of 20
to 25 microns is superior to other all-porcelain
restorations or metal ceramics. Finally, the
combination of an aluminum oxide ceramic core
veneered with Vitadur Alpha porcelain allows for
excellent light transmission and provides for a
highly esthetic restoration.
In-Ceram SPINELL, the natural
compliment to the In-Ceram system, utilizes an
aluminum and magnesium oxide core. Spinell's highly
translucent core, combined with Vitadur Alpha
porcelain, makes it ideal for esthetic inlays,
onlays, veneers and anterior crowns. Its superior
strength of 350 MPa is two to three times stronger
than other all-ceramic systems, including pressed
ceramics. You no longer have to compromise strength
to get esthetics.
You can have it both ways with
SPINELL!
